Rose Bundy

There is hardly anyone in the world who has not heard of Ted Bundy? Well, then you must know about Rose Bundy too. In the 1970’s, Bundy spread a morbid fear in the hearts of American citizens with his reign of terror. He was a psychopath and a serial killer whose primary target were women.

His modus operandi included either impersonating an authority figure, winning the trust of his targets through charm and charisma,or simply bludgeoning them unconscious. Either way, he concluded his violent business by raping and murdering the women he abducted in cold blood. For this, Bundy was nicknamed the Lady Killer or even the Campus Killer.

A Bit about Ted Bundy

In the year 1975, Bundy was finally arrested by the police. He went on trial, after which he received three death sentences. He was executed at the Florida State Prison in Raiford on January 24, 1989. Before his death, different people who interacted with him at several points in time had more or less the same conclusion. His biographer, Ann Rule, stated that Bundy was a sadistic sociopath who derived immense pleasure from the pain of another human being. Bundy described himself as “the most cold-hearted son of a bitch you’ll ever meet.”

However, the infamous serial killer has remained infamous in popular media even several decades after his death. Some years ago Netflix ordered a true crime docuseries on Bundy called The Ted Bundy Tapes. Zac Efron plays the role of the violent psychopath and offers a deeper insight into his life and times. Among many other things that we get to know about Bundy from the series is his family. At some point Bundy had a wife and even a daughter:- Rose Bundy. Strikes rather bizarre to you, eh? It is strange how the mind of such a person works.

A Troubled Marriage

Carole Ann Bundy, his wife, liked him due to his charismatic nature. And his tendency to charm people around him. It is a miracle he did not consider killing her too, but that is how life works I guess. Bundy even called Carole to the witness stand during his Orlando trial for the murder of the Chi Omega sorority girls. At that time, Carole was expecting Rose. Furthermore, she also smuggled drugs and money into jail for the serial killer for some time. One might even call it a match made in heaven.

A Quiet Life

Now as for Rose Bundy, she became a subject of much debate after her conception. You see, she was born at a time when all of America was reeling from the horrific deeds of her father. The law enforcement authorities kept her out of the limelight for a long time. Because media glare would have scarred her from an early age. After the release of the Netflix documentary, however, things changed. More people have sought information about her owing to a surge in interest regarding the case.

Rose is currently 39 years old. She grew up in Florida until her parents divorced, after which she left the state for an unknown location. It is a completely understandable decision. To live in an envirionment where everyone knew her as the daughter of a notorious serial killer would have been traumatic. In 2002, she moved to England and as of now, lives in a quiet English village as a housewife. Once again, these are mere speculations and have never been proved true.

We hope Rose Bundy is getting the low profile and privacy she deserves. According to reports she is gentle and kind, completely unlike her father, and lives a normal life now. Everyone in the world deserves a fresh start, especially those born under such tragic circumstances.
