Scar
Scar, the villainous character in this classic Disney movie, is widely despised for his evil deeds and desire for power. His actions, including the murder of his own brother, evoke strong emotions in viewers. Despite being one of the most disliked Disney characters, Scar’s wickedness and captivating presence make him intriguing. Also, it caused us intense trauma when we watched the movie during childhood.

Furthermore, this man is the very personification of evil.
Ivan Drago
Ivan Drago, a Russian boxer, used performance-enhancing drugs and aimed to defeat Rocky, the beloved heavyweight champion. He was heartless and widely despised, especially due to the political context surrounding the movie’s release. Even now, many people continue to harbor strong hatred towards this ruthless villain. Also, remember the Cold War was going on in a full-fledged manner at that time.
Jack Torrance
Jack Torrance, one of Stephen King’s most twisted characters, will send shivers down your spine in this classic film. He moves his family to a large, eerie hotel, but soon becomes possessed by evil forces. From chasing his family with an ax to threatening to harm his wife, Jack’s sheer madness makes him an unforgettable villain. Joe Pesci’s portrayal of Tommy DeVito in this gangster film is unforgettable. Tommy is a cruel and dangerous character, yet strangely enjoyable to watch. Despite his hot-headedness and unspeakable crimes, Tommy’s villainous charm captivates us. Joe Pesci is one of the best and classic hands at the gangster drama. Remember his portrayal of Nucky Thompson in Boardwalk Empire. Now that really was something. We all really enjoyed that fine show on gangsters during the Prohibition.
Hannibal Lecter
Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs is a truly terrifying villain. Just his presence alone sends shivers down your spine. Although he doesn’t physically harm much in the movie, his manipulative nature and way of speaking leave us naturally frightened. Anthony Hopkins’ portrayal is so convincing that you might hesitate to approach him in real life! Also, the portrayal of a cannibalistic serial killer is matchless till now.
Tony Montana
Tony Montana, the Cuban immigrant in Scarface, is a gangster who captivates and makes you root for him despite his flaws. Al Pacino’s performance as Tony is iconic and it’s hard to imagine anyone else in the role. Tony’s ambition, greed, and tenacity make him a standout among Hollywood villains. You can’t help but love to hate him. Al Pacino has always been a masterclass when it comes to portraying emotionally troubled gangsters in Hollywood.

At times, we even sympathize with him. Also, he is an incredibly flawed and deep character. His master Anoke enslaves him with promises of power. But Kylo is in search of something deeper. As the son of Han and Leia, Kylo Ren stands out as a memorable character. He combines cunning with vulnerability, breaking the mold of absolute tyrants often seen in the saga.
The Joker
We all remember the Joker. Heath Ledger’s portrayal of Batman’s most famous villain is seared into all our minds. The Joker is a psychopathic criminal mastermind. His past was incredibly painful, and there is a method to his madness that stuns even our caped vigilante. The Joker plots major schemes and disasters months in advance. As such, the execution is flawless when it happens. Ledger won an Oscar for his role but sadly, it was posthumous. Apparently, the commitment to the role robbed him of his mental stability.
Dolores Umbridge
If there is one person we have hated all our lives, it is Dolores Umbridge. The character was introduced in Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix. She is unbearable in her uptight attitude, disciplines students for ridiculous infarctions and expels teachers for slight or insignificant faults. Also, who can ever forget how she made Harry carve words into his own skin as punishment? Fortunately, she ended up in prison soon and we all forgot about her until the last movie of the franchise.
Norman Bates
Of course you know Norman Bates. If you have seen Alfred Hitchcock’s legendary thriller Psycho, you will remember that famous bathroom scene. A lady is taking a shower when suddenly, a shadowy assailant plunges a dagger into her chest several times. Anthony Perkins plays the deranged hotelkeeper to terrifying perfection. Also, the last shot of him smiling at the camera as it slowly zooms towards his face still gives us nightmares.
Claude Frollo
The villain in Disney’s 34th animated film is not only mean and tricky. But he also feels surprisingly relatable for a kids’ movie. Frollo is a hypocritical religious leader in medieval Paris. He represents deep issues like corruption and mistreatment of women that still exist today.
Even though he’s an animated character, Frollo feels more like a real person than many other Disney villains. He surely deserves a spot among the foes we definitely wouldn’t want to encounter. Also, he has got a rather cruel smile.
Pennywise
Pennywise is no mere villain. He reflects the closest fears of people. And he brings them out in terrifying form. Bill Skarsgard did a tremendous job. Though the 1990 version is no less scary. We would definitely pick the modern adaptation. We loved it. And so did fans of the book.
