As per the Union Health Ministry data, in the last 24 hours, we have had more than 6000 new cases of Covid cases. So, it increases the total tally to 26k active cases rising daily now, at the rate of 3.32%.

Since a few days, Covid-19 cases have seen an upward trend. Although it hasn’t led to an increase in hospitalization, we have to stay alert. 

In fact, the Union Health Minster Mansukh Mandaviya also said that there’s no need for concern about the new variant at this moment.  It hasn’t shown any significant threat as of yet. However, as we mentioned earlier, one must stay alert about it.

Symptoms of The Variant Omicron XBB.1.16

The symptoms of the XBB.1.16 includes similar ones to those of other Omicron variants. For example, the symptoms include high-grade fever for over 2 days or so, sore throat, cough, headache, body pain, cold, abdominal discomfort, etc. However, there’s no loss of smell or taste seen in the patients of the new XBB.1.16 variant so far. Most of the cases are managed in home isolation only. In other words, we haven’t seen any hospital cases yet. 

Taking Precautionary Measures Against Thew New COVID-19 Variant

Of course, it’s important to take some precautionary measures against the new Covid-19 variant, Omicron XBB.1.16. As per the govt, one should once again follow the previous precautionary measures, such as physical distancing, using hand sanitizers, indoor and outdoor mask use, etc. Moreover, one should also check the oxygen saturation, and monitor the temperature every now and then.
